Should Massachusetts do more to encourage outdoor cannabis cultivation?
Choices
Poll Description

The overwhelming majority of legal Massachusetts cannabis is grown in indoor cultivation facilities, where quality and product safety is easier to control, but these facilities draw large amounts of energy, particularly for lighting and HVAC systems. The Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission offers perks to outdoor growers, with expedited business license application reviews and lower fees. The CCC has talked about adding additional perks for outdoor growing, such as speciality sustainability labels for their products, but none of those proposals have garnered significant consideration. Of the 130 licensed marijuana growers, 25 grow outdoors.
