CEO of North Brookfield's Vibram to retire in December

Vibram USA acquired its longtime manufacturing partner Quabaug Corp. in 2015 and makes product at the North Brookfield facility.

Longtime Vibram Corp. executive Mike Gionfriddo is retiring as president and CEO at year’s end, the North Brookfield footwear company announced Tuesday.

Fabrizio Gamberini, formerly the CEO of Geox USA in New York City, Marcolin USA and general manager for Nike, will fill Gionfriddo’s role as president effective immediately. The two will work together to ensure a seamless transition until the end of the year.

Gionfriddo has been part of the company’s management team since 1998, serving as president since 2011.

In the press release announcing his retirement, the company’s Global General Managuer Paolo Manuzzi highlighted Gionfriddo’s accomplishments, including the acquisition of Quabaug Corp., commercialization of new technologies, partnerships with incubator offices and implementation of global quality standards.

“We cannot thank Mike enough for all that he has done to propel Vibram’s business in the United States and around the world over a 20+ year period. The company will miss Mike, and we all wish him well in his retirement,” Manuzzi said.
