The Cannabis Control Commission on Thursday is expected to take up license applications from a Franklin-based grower, but no licenses for a testing facility - required for the industry to begin selling products - will be heard.

New England Treatment Access, which wants to grow marijuana and make other products in Franklin, is seeking a cultivation and product manufacturing license at the company’s 76,000-square-foot facility. The company also wants licenses to sell products in Northampton and Brookline.

Those retail locations are already sites of the company’s medical marijuana dispensaries.

The commission said earlier this month that it has begun its review of a testing facility, which is required to test products before any company can begin selling any recreational cannabis products.

However, licenses for testing facilities has been left off Thursday’s agenda.

The delay in licensing for such facilities has delayed the industry as a whole.

CCC Chairman Steve Hoffman said earlier this month he was hopeful that a testing facility’s license would be on tap for Thursday’s meeting.

He also said there were 19 applications completed that were waiting for municipality approval and other background checks. It appears that less than half of those will be heard Thursday.

The CCC is also expected to take up applications for Amesbury-based growing, cultivation and retailing for Alternative Therapies Group, which is seeking to sell products in Salem.
