Diesel particulate filter manufacturer Rypos Inc. has landed $8 million from Craton Equity Partners, a California-based clean technology fund.
Holliston-based Rypos recently moved to a new facility in Holliston and doubled its manufacturing space. The privately held company has been developing, testing and making diesel particulate filters since 1996.
The company has been granted four U.S. patents and has one patent application pending. Circuitry within Rypos filters allows the filters to clean themselves, cutting emissions from a wide variety of diesel engines.
Much of the company's business comes from California where diesel emissions standards are very strict.
Craton focuses its investing on bringing new technologies to market and has funded projects in green building, heat exchange technology, smart grid technology and biofuels.
