Eastern insurance completes 25th acquisition

The largest insurance agency headquartered in Massachusetts has completed its 25th acquisition since 2002, bringing a Westwood insurance agency into the fold.
The acquisition of the John E. Patterson Insurance Agency, Inc. was completed last month, with the company’s president and staff becoming Eastern employees as of Aug. 1. A rebranding of the Westwood office will take place over the next three to four months, according to a release from Natick-based Eastern. The acquisition, for which financial terms were not disclosed, expands the insurance agency’s footprint, according to Hope A. Aldrich, president and CEO of Eastern Insurance.
The acquisition marks the 25th since the insurance agency became a subsidiary of Eastern Bank Corp. in 2002. The agency serves more than 70,000 individuals and businesses with personal and commercial insurance products, surety, and employee benefits services.
