eClinicalWorks Expands N.Y. Contract, Makes N.J. Deal

Westborough-based electronic health records company eClinicalWorks announced that it has signed a new contract and expanded work on another.

The firm said it's been chosen by New Jersey's Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center to provide the 230-bed hospital with its Care Coordination Medical Record (CCMR)and comprehensive health records programs.

Through the initiative, eClinicalWorks will help MHMC work with its providers to become a National Committee for Quality Assurance-recognized Patient-Centered Medical Homes (PCMH) and further meet its goals as an accountable care organization (ACO). Both ACO and PCMH delivery models coordinate care between patients and members of health care teams with the goal of strengthening the physician-patient relationship, leading to better care and reduced costs over time.

Meanwhile, New York's Urban Health Plan, in the South Bronx and Queens, has also asked eClinicalWorks to assist with it's ACO goals, expanding on other work the two have done together.

eClinical's CCMR is designed to provide visibility into a patient's care across all settings, facilitate smooth care transitions, engage patients and providers in preventative care, improve outcomes among populations and reduce costs. It also includes community analytics, which delivers reporting, alerting and messaging capabilities. Dashboards can be used to determine and monitor adherence of clinical processes and outcomes for assisting in chronic disease management.
