Grant To Support Public Health Efforts

The Health Foundation of Central Massachusetts has awarded the city of Worcester a $50,000 grant to pursue a public health regionalization effort.

The money will help fund the city's exploration of cooperative agreements with local cities and towns in the public health space. Worcester has already formalized an agreement with the town of Shrewsbury to provide public health consultation services.

A kick-off meeting on regionalization of public health services is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 14 at Worcester City Hall. The meeting will be convened by Sens. Michael O. Moore and Harriette Chandler.
