Mass Megawatts Nets First Sale Of Wind Generator
Worcester-based Mass Megawatts, a publicly traded wind turbine maker, said it has sold its first wind electric power generator.
A Colorado rancher purchased the unit for $47,000. Mass Megawatts said it has several other pending sales in the works. The sale comes not long after the company launched a marketing effort in the region through its regional manufacturing facility in Morrison, Colo.
The company also expanded into the retail electricity market in Massachusetts and seven other states in December, which it said was aimed at diversifying its business model and providing future earnings potential.
Mass Megawatts, which trades on the OTC markets, was trading at 6 cents this morning. The company has little debt, but has accumulated more than $6.4 million in losses since its inception.
