MetroWest retailers receive national awards

A professional retail association has extended awards to business operators in Westborough and Framingham for retailer of the year and the association’s volunteer award.

The Professional Retail Store Maintenance Association (PRSM) announced Thursday that Matthew Jacques, manager of maintenance and CAM Services for BJ’s Wholesale Club, Inc. based in Westborough will receive its 2016 Retailer of the Year Award. The award recognizes performance excellence by a retail facilities maintenance professional. Jacques manages 213 wholesale clubs, totaling more than 24 million square feet of retail space and over 100 million square feet of parking lot area.

PRSM also award the Volunteer of the Year Award to Mike Lapointe, RFMP, formerly of Bose Corporation in Framingham. The PRSM Volunteer of the Year Award is presented to a member who has made significant contributions to the retail facilities maintenance industry. Lapointe has been devoted to the association, according to a release detailing the award. In 2008, he was elected to the Board of Directors, and served as 1st Vice President in 2009 and 2nd Vice President in 2010.

PRSM is the leading membership organization for retail facilities and vendor professionals.
