Movers and Shakers

The Hanover Insurance Group Inc. has announced that CFO and executive vice president EDWARD PARRY III will resign to pursue other interests. He will remain with Hanover until June 15 and serve as a director until his term expires May 15. He has served Hanover and its predecessor companies since 1992, serving as CFO since 1996.

Nichols College has appointed EZAT PARNIA PhD as provost/executive vice president. He most recently served as the executive vice president and dean of the Management School at Cambridge College in Cambridge, Mass. Parnia served in multiple capacities while at Cambridge College. Prior to joining Cambridge College, Parnia worked at The University of Hartford, introducing the successful Masters in Business Administration and Masters in Public Administration programs for working adults. He directed multiple programs at The University of Hartford, including the Professional Education Program and the African-American Studies Program.

Mirick O’Connell has appointed KERRI SCHRAY as Of Counsel with its Intellectual Property Group. Previously, Schray was an associate at Choate Hall & Stewart, LLP in Boston. She also worked in the legal department at Millennium Pharmaceuticals and was a patent agent at Edwards and Angell, LLP in Boston. Schray is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and before the United States Patent & Trademark Office.

Telecast Fiber Systems has appointed BILL HOLLIS as Midwest regional sales manager. Hollis, who has more than 20 years of experience in the video and broadcast industry, will also be product manager for Telecast’s Viper II modular product line. Prior to joining Telecast, he was product manager for Stratos International, a manufacturer of fiber optic components.

Proficiency, Inc. has appointed ALEX SHAPIRA as CEO. Shapira has 20 years of experience in Digital Manufacturing, CAD/CAM, real-time production management and mission-critical defense systems. Before joining the company, he was vice president of production management at UGS.

FMG Finanical Services, Inc. has appointed JOY LAYDEN as group benefits advisor. She will work alongside the management team to assist clients with all health and welfare employee benefit plans. Layden previously worked at The Paul Revere Life Insurance Co., Fidelity Employer Services Co., and other related corporations.

TODD McDONALD of Paxton recently completed the acquisition of the outstanding shares of stock for Aisling Partners Insurance Brokerage, LLC. McDonald founded the company in 2002 and has been president and managing partner since its inception. Aisling Partners is a regional employee benefits consulting firm specializing in the health and welfare marketplace and is headquartered in Hudson.

Fitchburg-based Workers Credit Union has appointed JACKIE HOONJAN as vice president, eastern regional manager and branch manager of its Chelmsford office.

Hoonjan has extensive experience, which includes branch management, private banking and personal and commercial lending. Most recently, she worked for Clinton Savings Bank.

TODD McCABE, project executive with Consigli Construction Co. Inc., has been appointed to the board of directors for Preservation Massachusetts, a statewide non-profit historic preservation organization dedicated to preserving historic and cultural heritage. McCabe has played a key role in the restoration work at the Peabody Institute Library in Danvers, a winner of a Massachusetts Historical Commission Preservation Award, the Newburyport Library, and at Plymouth Memorial Hall. McCabe began his career at Consigli as a project manager in 1999.

The Central Mass. Chapter of CPCU Society has honored the lifetime achievements of DENNIS MURPHY JR, CEO of the Murphy Insurance Agency. He was presented with the Distinguished Lifetime Service Award to recognize his many contributions to the insurance industry and is the first recipient of this award.

Fallon Clinic in Worcester has named three new members to its board of trustees. They are: LISA CARROLL, vice president of plan services for Carroll Enterprises Inc., an insurance and financial services broker; ANN LISI, executive director of the Greater Worcester Community Foundation; and SANJAY SHAH, principal of EBS Consulting of Worcester, a human resources consulting agency. All three began serving on Fallon’s board on Jan. 25.

Westboro-based Envox Worldwide has promoted DAVID BAKER to vice president of sales for the company’s Envox Americas division. He will develop and implement Envox America’s overall sales strategy, and build the company’s sales team. Baker joined Envox as northeast regional sales manager, and worked in sales for a number of companies over the previous 15 years.

Medway-based Cybex International has appointed GLENN COLAROSSI to lead its new hospitality division, which will provide workout equipment for hotel fitness centers. Colarossi has more than 20 years of experience in the fitness and spa industry, including working with Starwood Hotels on the development of Westin branded fitness centers in the company’s hotels. He has also worked with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Four Seasons, St. Regis, The Luxury Collection and Fairmont.
