Movers & Shakers from the Aug. 1, 2011 issue

 

 

Commerce Bank named CHARLES DUNN, ALYSSA GORGONE and THOMAS MOSCHOS as corporate banking lenders at its main office in Worcester. Dunn and Gorgone previously worked in Commerce Bank’s Goldstar office. Moschos joined Commerce Bank from Sophos Inc., where he was an account executive.

The Worcester-based law firm of Bowditch & Dewey hired CHRISTINA S. COLLINS as an attorney. She will focus on labor and employment and higher education law. Collins returns to the firm after spending several years as an attorney with the University of Massachusetts.

Long Term Solutions of Natick, a health care services firm, named SANDRA KING as senior vice president of sales and marketing. King previously served in executive marketing positions at Bentley University, Northeastern and Babson College. 

Millbury Savings Bank elected MICHAEL D. STOWE, a partner at the Westborough-based accounting firm Stowe & Degon, as a trustee. CHARLES J. ATCHUE of Atchue Opticians in Millbury, NEIL LOOMIS of Clearview Country Club in Millbury, and DAVID E. SURPRENANT of Mirick O’Connell in Worcester, were named to 10-year terms as corporators. The bank also promoted HENRY L. FOLSOM to vice president. Folsom joined the bank in 2000 as an assistant vice president.

Whitinsville-based ERA Key Realty Services has promoted MATTEO L. GENTILE to office manager in the firm’s Oxford office. Gentile previously worked with Emerson Realtors for 10 years. In 2003 he joined ERA Key Realty Services, managing the Spencer office, until he opened 1Star Realty, which he owned for six years. Gentile rejoined ERA Key in April and was promptly promoted.

Sturbridge-based advertising agency Smith & Jones promoted DEREK BEAHN to partner and business strategist, hired DAVID PETERSON as brand strategist and POLLY CURRIER as design strategist. Beahn has worked for Smith & Jones since 1999. He has a degree in business administration and marketing from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams and previously worked in the newspaper industry. Peterson, a graduate of Syracuse University, joins Smith & Jones following six years with the Worcester Tornadoes, most recently as vice president of sales and marketing. Currier spent the past 20 years in and around the design and printing industries.

Worcester-based Poise, Style and Motion Ballroom Dance Studio is now owned and managed by JARED VIGNEAULT of Worcester. Vigneault took over ownership from previous owner Deb Galvin. He is an active member with the North American Dance Teachers Association and Dance Vision International Dance Association.

ERIC PFEIFFER, Southbridge-based Hyde Industrial Blade Solutions’ director of sales and marketing, has been selected to serve a three-year term on the Industrial Supply Association board.

Worcester-based Protector Group Insurance Agency Inc. hired KIMBERLY J. REGAN as a senior underwriter and GEORGE M. THOMPSON as director of compliance. Regan previously worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts as a large group underwriter. Thompson was formerly vice president and managing counsel for Unum in Worcester.

RCAP Solutions of Gardner named CARLA DEFOSSE chief of staff, OTTY WESTENFIELD chief financial officer, and MAEGEN MCCAFFREY as chief communications officer. DeFosse formerly worked for state Sen. Harriette Chandler, D-Worcester. Westenfield most recently served as the account chief financial officer at Dell Services. McCaffrey was previously executive director of the Wachusett Chamber of Commerce in Clinton.

Fitchburg-based Rollstone Bank & Trust hired J.T. KELLEY, TIMOTHY O’LEARY, MATTHEW SMITH and PETER ST. GEORGE. Kelley is senior vice president and team leader of Rollstone’s loan office in Worcester. He previously worked at Commerce Bank and TD Bank. O’Leary is a mortgage originator. George and Smith will work in the bank’s wealth management division.

Marlborough-based Digital Federal Credit Union named LAURIE LACHAPELLE vice president of finance. She most recently served as an audit director for national firm McGladrey & Pullen LLP, where she had worked since 2003.

West Springfield-based United Bank, which has branches in Worcester, has named AMY GANCI as a commercial lending administration officer. She was most recently assistant vice president and assistant portfolio manager with Webster Bank.

Leominster Credit Union has named the following officers to its board of directors: AMEDEO E. BILOTTA, chairman, Middle Street Garage, Leominster; ANTHONY A. GASBARRO, vice chairman, Glenwood Elementary School, Rutland; MICHAEL J. SAUVAGEAU, treasurer, Lunenburg/Bolton building commissioner; RICHARD A. SHEPPARD, assistant treasurer, retired; NANCY L. GRAVES, clerk, retired. Board members are ROSEMARY BRACANI, GIULIO G. GRECO, ANDREW D. COUSINS, JOYCE A. LAFLEUR and JOSEPH V. QUINTAL.

Whitinsville-based UniBank named ADAM P. LOHNES as a commercial loan officer and assistant vice president in the bank’s Worcester loan office. He comes to UniBank from People’s United Bank, where he was a senior underwriter, and Digital Federal Credit Union, where he was a senior commercial credit analyst. 

Worcester-based Allcom Credit Union promoted RYAN MARSHALL of Barre to vice president of finance. Marshall began his career at Allcom in 2007 as an accounting assistant and has also served as accounting manager and assistant vice president.

The Fitchburg Art Museum named JERRY BECK its new director of marketing and community engagement. He has a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Florida State University and a master’s from Tufts University.

Harvard-based Maugel Architects hired architect STEVEN WYCHORSKI. Wychorski previously worked at Boston architectural firms in Boston Dyer Brown, Margulies Perruzzi Architects and Shepley, Bulfinch, Richardson & Abbot.

ROSE HAYES joined Edward Street Child Services of Worcester as director of special projects. Hayes previously served as director of training for the city of Worcester. She is an adjunct faculty member of Becker College in Worcester, Nichols College in Dudley and Clark University in Worcester.   

Anna Maria College of Paxton appointed CAROL GABRIELE as director of nursing programs. She most recently served as director of the school of nursing for Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut.

Fitchburg-based Workers’ Credit Union has named JEFFREY C. TURCOTTE as assistant vice president of business banking. He was previously a business development officer for Middlesex Savings Bank.
