Weston Nurseries Inc. of Hopkinton has hired LAURIE V. SULLIVAN as its new garden center perennial sales supervisor. Sullivan has worked with Weston previously as a landscape designer. In her new position, she will lead the perennial sales staff in developing the perennial area as a destination within the garden center.

Fruitlands Museum in Harvard has appointed MAGGIE GREEN as director of education and public programming. Green has worked in start-up corporate and creative businesses and in the nonprofit sector. She is a member of the board, and past president, at the Harvard Historical Society and is a member of the Harvard Town Center Task Force. She has a master’s degree from Boston Architechtural College and a bachelor’s in English from Montclair State University in New Jersey. In her new position, she will develop educational programs for people of all ages.

After spending time working in home loans, SONIA M. MAGUIRE has moved to a different side of the real estate business, joining the Milford office of Whitinsville-based ERA Key Realty Services. Maguire previously worked as a mortgage loan processor and accounting clerk at MetroWest Bank (now TD Bank) in Framingham. She has also worked in accounts receivable for Goldwell of New England in Holliston. Maguire has an associate’s degree in accounting from Mass Bay Community College in Wellesley. She has been in the Milford area for more than 30 years.

DANIEL J. HASTIE was named vice president of compliance and security at Whitinsville-based UniBank for Savings. He has worked with local banking institutions for 10 years, spending time at Dean Bank, Central One Federal Credit Union and most recently, Commonwealth National Bank.

Worcester service agency Children’s Friend Inc. has elected five new directors to its board: GARY CARSKADDAN, director of development, St. John’s High School, Shrewsbury; JANET WILSON MOORE, partner, Mirick O’Connell, Worcester; SUZANNE L. WEEKES, associate head of math department, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester; DAVID K. WOODBURY, former president, Woodbury and Co. Inc., Worcester; and PATRICIA ZINKUS, director of case management, Fallon Community Health Plan, Worcester. Children’s Friend was founded in 1849. It now runs counseling, adoption and family service programs and offers services for school-age mothers and grieving children and teens.

Framingham-based Staples Inc. has promoted LISA SCOPA to vice president and treasurer. Scopa has worked for Staples since 2001, most recently as director of corporate finance planning and analysis. Before that, she worked in finance and corporate development for companies including IBM, Hearst Corp. and Sterling Winthrop Inc. She has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and an MBA in finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Scopa succeeds NICK HOTCHKIN, who has been appointed senior vice president of finance for the company’s U.S. retail business.

Swiftec IT of Shrewsbury has promoted JOHN ST. LAURENT to manager of technical services. In his new position, St. Laurent will work with clients and oversee the firm’s technicians. St. Laurent started at Swiftec in January as a senior technician. He has more than 13 years of experience servicing computers. Before joining Swiftec, he was the network administrator for the Auburn Police Department. He is married and lives in Worcester.

KENNETH O’CONNELL was named operations manager at Ashland-based Three-C Electrical Co. He has worked in engineering, management and project management across a variety of industries for more than 15 years. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and lives in Plainville.

Westborough-based energy services firm Conservation Services Group has hired DEBRA HANCHER as Mid-Atlantic operations director. Hancher is based at the firm’s Albany, N.Y., office, supervising finance managers and application support staff throughout the Mid-Atlantic. She previously worked as operations planning and finance manager for Lockheed Martin Corp. in Maryland. Before that, she spent 17 years at JPMorgan Chase Bank in New York City. Hancher has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Wells College in Aurora, N.Y., and an MBA in finance from New York University. She lives in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

Holliston exhaust control systems company Rypos Inc. has hired JIM MCDONALD as its national sales manager. McDonald was a co-founder and Eastern U.S. sales manager for Miratech Corp., a maker of emission control solutions. In his new role, he will work from Rypos’s new Philadelphia regional office. McDonald has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Delaware. He has served on industry panels as an expert on pollution control and regulation.

Marlborough collection agency American Profit Recovery has hired LINDSEY THAYER and SAMANTHA DEXTER as customer service representatives. The two new hires will handle customer inquiries, train new clients on the company’s systems and make sure clients’ needs are being met. Thayer is a Norfolk resident, while Dexter lives in Framingham.

Millbury Savings Bank has elected four new members to 10-year terms on its board of corporators: MARY ELLEN BLUNT, JUDITH A. O’CONNOR, MICHAEL P. MCDONOUGH and MICHAEL P. PALERMO. Blunt is the transportation program manager for the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission. She has a bachelor’s degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Assumption College. She lives in Millbury. O’Connor also a Millbury resident, is executive director of the Millbury Senior Center. She is also a director of Elder Home Care Services of the Worcester Area Inc. McDonough is a partner in Beauregard & McDonough Tax & Accounting. He has a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University in New York. He lives in Grafton. Palermo also lives in Grafton. He most recently served as senior vice president and director of sales for The Boston Company Asset Management LLC.

Curtis Industries LLC, a Worcester company that makes vehicle enclosures for golf cars, utility vehicles and compact trailers, has promoted two employees, JON PIUZE and DAVID BREAULT. Piuze is the new director of sales for the company’s aftermarket segment. He has worked with the company for five years, mostly in the golf car vehicle segment working with dealers. In his new position, he will build a sales team to solicit aftermarket cab sales in the U.S. and Canada. Breault will become director of product development and marketing. He has been with the company for four years, running marketing initiatives and working in sales for the aftermarket cab and Sno-Pro truck plow divisions. In his new job, he will develop cabs, enclosures and accessories for the aftermarket division and execute marketing plans and strategies.
