Price of gasoline drops one cent in Massachusetts

The price of gasoline in Massachusetts is down one cent per gallon of regular unleaded from last week, according to a report on Monday from travel association AAA Northeast.

As of Monday, the average price per gallon is $2.10. This is eight cents lower than the current national average which is $2.18 per gallon. The national average remains the same as last week.

“Demand is likely to see some declines in the weeks ahead as drivers traditionally take fewer road trips in the fall,” said Mary Maguire, spokesperson AAA Northeast, in a press release. “That will mean gas prices are likely to push cheaper throughout the month.”

Last year at the same time the average price of gas in Massachusetts was up 48 cents at $2.58 per gallon.
