Readers: Verdict Is 'No' For Slots-Hotel Plan

The Mass Gaming & Entertainment proposal for a slots parlor and hotel in Worcester elicited more than 25 comments, ranging from how it would boost jobs and needed government revenue, to the potentially negative effects on crime and other businesses.

This month, the Worcester City Council is weighing the proposal, which could bring up to 1,250 slot machines near Kelley Square on land owned by Wyman-Gordon, along with a 150-200 room luxury hotel on a yet-to-be-determined location closer to downtown.
