State Wins SBA Grant To Boost Exports

The U.S. Small Business Administration has awarded a grant of nearly $721,000 to Massachusetts to help enhance international trade opportunities for small businesses, the Patrick administration announced.

The money is part of President Obama’s Small Business Jobs Act of 2010, which is designed to boost the value of exports for small businesses and nudge more businesses toward considering exports as part of their business plans.

The commonwealth currently exports more than $27 billion of goods annually, according to a statement from the Patrick administration. That’s up from $26.2 billion in 2010, according to state data.
