Stratus: Manufacturing IT Downtime Averages $65,830 Annually
Maynard-based Stratus Technologies, which makes systems and software to keep computer applications up and running, commissioned a survey that found the average manufacturer will incur $65,830 in sunk costs each year due to failing of IT systems.
More than 500 IndustryWeek readers responded to the survey, which found that the financial impact per downtime incident increases with revenues, but the impact as a percentage of annual revenue was greater for smaller producers.
The survey’s results will be discussed Thursday during an IndustryWeek webinar.
For companies with less than $100 million in revenue, the average annual cost was $10,754. Meanwhile, for companies with more than $1 billion in revenue, the average cost was $32,500.
