MORE ON URGENT CARE CLINICS

Our May 26 Page One story (“Urgent care clinics gain momentum”) garnered four comments, including this one from a board member at a local hospital:

Most community hospitals post their wait times on their websites. For true emergencies, they are the best choice. Most community hospitals are working on having urgent care centers, which will work in the same manner.

BOTTLE LAW EXPANSION: REVERSE EFFECT?

Although most voters in our Flash Poll question during the week of June 2 favor expansion of the state's bottle deposit law, does Massachusetts really need such an incentive to recycle? Here's one comment against the idea:

Expansion is a tax, pure and simple, and a tax impacting those that can least afford it. Our attitude as a society and our recycling systems (has) evolved far past the original days of bottle bills, and … a recycling tax on certain items is more a hindrance to efficient recycling than a help today.
