The latest estimated unemployment rates dropped across the state and in most labor markets in October, according to the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (EOLWD).
Of the state's 22 labor markets, the Worcester area was among those that experienced the greatest jobs gains, while the Fitchburg-Leominster-Gardner region saw no change in unemployment, according to EOLWD. The Worcester-area unemployment rate fell to 6.8 percent in October, down from 7.1 percent in September, and the Framingham-area rate declined to 4.9 percent last month from 5 percent in September.
The seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate dropped 0.2 percent last month to 6.2 percent, according to a statement by EOLWD. Seventeen labor markets across Massachusetts saw corresponding drops in the number of jobless workers, while rates remained unchanged in two areas and increased in three, according to EOLWD. Year over year, the unemployment rate has declined in all of the state's labor markets.
