Fitchburg’s $1.3-billion Workers’ Credit Union has purchased an office in Littleton to house its senior management team, freeing up spaces at its administrative offices in Fitchburg and Lunenburg.
The Littleon office will be in the multi-tenant building and 119 Russell St. in Littleton, at the intersection of Routes 495 and 119. In addition to housing the senior management team, it also will be home to a number of administrative departments.
The purchase was made because Workers’ is running out of space at its Main Street facility in Fitchburg, said Douglas Petersen, president and CEO. That Fitchburg office will continue to house all the departments it currently does, and the branch at that location will continue to operate.
Petersen said Workers’ is growing at a rate of 10-15 percent annually. The credit union earlier this year added branches in Westford and Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School in Fitchburg. It has 86,000 members and $1.3 billion in assets.
