WPI leads area colleges in U.S. News & World Report rankings

U.S. News & World Report on Monday released its annual ranking, and several Central Massachusetts colleges and universities placed on both the main lists and its various sublists.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute ranked #67 out of 443 in the 2022-23 list of top national universities, down from #63 in the 2021-22 rankings. It was also ranked #36 among the most innovative schools. 

Clark University in Worcester ranked #97 among top national universities, up from #103 last year, and ranked #38 in best value schools.

The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester ranked #33 among national liberal arts colleges, up from #35 last year. 

Dean College in Franklin ranked 29th among 54 colleges in the Regional Colleges North category. The school was ranked #2 in best undergraduate teaching in that category.

Worcester’s Assumption University was ranked #40 out of 181 in the Regional Universities North category. Joining them in that category was Fitchburg State University at #85 and Framingham State University at #93. Worcester State University at #101; Nichols College in Dudley at #121, and Anna Maria College in Paxton, which placed somewhere between #133-175 in an unspecified ranking.
