Littleton-based Dover Saddlery is continuing its expansion of retail stores across the country with moves into Minnesota and North Carolina.
The equestrian products retailer will open its Raleigh, N.C., store Nov. 9, with grand-opening specials throughout the store and vendors on hand to answer questions and give advice.
According to the company, its addition to North Carolina's Research Triangle is welcome, because the area is active for equestrian sports.
"We use our proprietary software model to locate our retail stores; this reduces risk and ensures we are placing stores in optimal locations," President and CEO Stephen L. Day said in a statement. "With access to the largest equestrian database in the country … we use this data to its full extent to locate stores, determine the appropriate size and forecast future sales, despite a very uncertain economy."
In September, the equestrian products retailer opened its first Minnesota store in Medina, celebrating with a grand opening event and VIP reception.
The two new stores give Dover an 18-store presence in 12 states.
