Event Description
Museum of Worcester and 4th Wall Stage company presents Casey at the Bat - The Musical. This staged reading by Worcester Composer, Stephen Murray, is a contemporary mini opera based upon another Worcester creation, Ernest L. Thayer’s 1888 poem, Casey at the Bat. Celebrating 137 years, the musical uses every word of Thayer’s poem, and expands the story to include Casey’s wife, Dora Mae, a young lad who idolizes Casey, legendary umpire, Foghorn Bradley, and a crowd of enthusiastic baseball fans.
This version of the classic poem will be enjoyed by baseball fans and music lovers of all ages. This event is FREE and Open to the Public.
