With a long history of providing disability services to children and adults with disabilities across the Commonwealth, Easterseals Massachusetts continues to respond to the needs of the communities we serve. After 80 years, we are thrilled to assist fellow nonprofit organizations in their quest to provide essential services to their clients.
Over the last two years, we have formally introduced our ESMART Services, an administrative support program for critical back-office functions of Human Resources, Information Technology, and Finance and Administration. Designed to help small nonprofits access valuable resources affordably, the program is ideal for organizations that do not have budgets for full-time staff to manage these crucial departments.
By partnering with ESMART Services, your organization will enjoy a host of benefits, leading to greater value and efficiency. These include:
• Reduction of operating costs and capital investments
• Increased organizational impact by allowing staff to focus on core business
• Access to technology, skills, and insights not otherwise available or affordable
• Increased flexibility and responsiveness
As a large human services organization serving more than 10,000 people across Massachusetts annually, ESMA has the resources and expertise to support other organizations with operational needs.
It is a concept that CFO Cheryl Lazzaro and AVP of Finance Keith Gajewski developed during the past ten years while working at Easterseals. Over that time, they implemented many new systems, processes, and administrative enhancements to increase efficiencies for their organization. They quickly realized these services could easily be transferred and shared with other small nonprofits that lack the resources. Even for nonprofits, “Starting with the basic concept, cash is still king,” Lazzaro said, adding, “the mission will suffer if your organization cannot collect money efficiently.”
“We know in this economic climate, resources and budgets are tight. We look to be an affordable solution to help,” Lazzaro said, noting that services are a la carte, so organizations are paying only for what they need, whether it is assistance with human resources, information technology, or payroll processing.
It is in the best interest of these smaller nonprofits to serve as many clients as possible through building a strong internal infrastructure that allows staff to do their jobs more smartly and efficiently. With seasoned professionals supporting our nonprofit clients, the ESMART Services team will help them realize that goal.
ESMART Services currently supports a half dozen clients ranging from 10 to 100 employees and can add many more. To learn more about how the ESMART Services program offered by Easterseals Massachusetts can help your organization thrive, visit esmart.eastersealsma.org.
