Gaudette Insurance Agency, Inc. is a family-owned independent insurance agency with offices in the Blackstone Valley and along the Route 9 corridor. The agency serves over ten thousand clients comprised of families, individuals, and a wide variety of small and medium-sized businesses.
A primary advantage of working with an independent insurance agency is the relationship between the client and the insurer. When dealing with a brand-name insurer directly, the client interacts with employees of the insurer – no one is on their side, looking out for their best interests. Additionally, clients are also limited to potential solutions provided by a single set of products.
Gaudette Insurance is on your side and at your side when you need us most. We represent many different top-quality insurers, which enables us to address your particular circumstances in the most effective and cost competitive way.
Founded in 1926 by the current owner’s great uncle, Gaudette Insurance is nearing its 100th anniversary. Leroy Gaudette, the oldest of six children living near the Town Common in Grafton, suffered from polio, and was confined to bed. In 1926, he learned about a new Massachusetts law that required auto insurance for all vehicle owners. Recognizing a business opportunity, he moved his room to the first floor, hung out a shingle and held court from his bed, writing auto insurance. Leroy’s much younger brother, Gerry Gaudette, Sr., expanded the business, opening a second office in the Rockdale village of Northbridge during the Great Depression, creating the Gaudette Brothers Insurance Agency.
The agency flourished by building client relationships that span decades and generations. Gerry Gaudette, Jr. joined the Agency in 1960 after studying insurance at UPenn. Under his leadership, the Agency became the largest agency in the Blackstone Valley.
In 1990, the third generation of Gaudettes joined the agency. Lee Gaudette led further expansion of the agency including several acquisitions of other local agencies.
Gaudette Insurance has been headquartered in Whitinsville since 1980 and has convenient branch locations in Grafton, Shrewsbury, Westboro and Southboro.
The agency’s over-arching goal is to exceed the expectations of our clients. We consider our service model to be old-fashioned. A human answers all of our calls during business hours. Every client has a dedicated service representative who gets to know you – this relationship building experience is much more efficient for the client. Many of our competitors use remote service centers or rotate calls through an automated attendant to the first available / inter-changeable employee. We know our clients love the structure we offer because they frequently tell us.
Along with our classic service approach, we also leverage modern tools to deliver the best client experience. We can successfully on-board a new client without a face-to-face visit. We use electronic signatures, e-payment links and emails or text messages along with video calls. Clients can use our own mobile app or website portal to access their policy information or use similar tools provided by their particular insurer.
