Daniel H. Apelian

Age: 29

Title: President/Manager of Record

Company: AllCare Pharmacy

Company location: Worcester

Residence: Worcester

College: University of Cincinnati and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences

Career highlights: I own and operate the first full-retail, full-service pharmacy specializing in HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C and chronic illness. We are the first model of its kind due to our specialty services, which we have collaborated with AIDS Project Worcester (the most comprehensive AIDS Service Organization in all of New England). I offer a wide variety of medication adherence and compliance programs for patients. And we work closely with various caseworkers, social workers, and health care providers.

Community involvement: I am extremely involved in the infectious disease health care setting of our local community and as time goes on I would like to broaden my involvement. Currently I am a board member of AIDS Project Worcester (APW). I am also a chairman of a sub-committee within the organization. I have thus far offered hundreds of hours volunteering my time to consult our patients to help them with their medication management, insurance issues and educate them about various programs that exist which can benefit them.

Biggest professional success: My biggest success professionally is the fact that I was single-handedly able to open an operation of this caliber. It took nearly three years to complete an extremely comprehensive business plan, which ultimately allowed me to secure the financing.

Dream job: This is it! I am satisfied on multiple fronts: I own my own business, I help the public and I truly make a difference in their lives.

My personal motto is: the best business deal in life is when all parties make out. If you can’t come to that agreement then someone’s going to get hurt and it’s not worth it for me.

If you weren’t doing the job you’re doing now, what would you do? I would be studying to go back to school. I truly hope to be able to go back to school to complete a MBA from either MIT or Harvard.
