45 new coronavirus cases in Worcester County and seven deaths reported Tuesday

Worcester County recorded 45 new coronavirus cases and seven new deaths on Tuesday, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

The new cases in the county increase the total to 11,803. Statewide, confirmed and probable cases have increased by 263 bringing the total to 103,889. There were 200 confirmed and 63 probable cases reported Tuesday.

The seven newly reported deaths in Worcester County bring the total to 834. Throughout Massachusetts, there were 55 confirmed and probable coronavirus deaths, bringing that total to 7,408.

DPH reported Tuesday 5,400 new coronavirus tests were administered, a total that has been on the decrease in the past few weeks.

The City of Worcester recorded seven new cases, the lowest since March. The total in the city stands at 5,038.

UMass Memorial Health Care and Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester report 97 inpatient cases, and 39 in intensive care as of Tuesday. In total, there have been 309 coronavirus deaths between the hospitals, and 344 employees have tested positive since the pandemic began.

MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham and Natick reported a total of 33 suspected and confirmed cases, and Milford Regional Medical Center reports 12, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. In total, the hospitals have nine suspected and confirmed cases in the ICU. Heywood Hospital and Health Alliance in Leominster report 22 suspected and confirmed cases, and six in intensive care. Harrington Hospital reports no cases as of Tuesday.

Nationwide, there are more than 1.9 million cases and nearly 112,000 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. Globally, there are around 7.2 million cases and 408,954 fatalities.
