Accolades & Honors

River Terrace Rehabilitation and HealthCare Center of Lancaster, owned and operated by Marquis Health Services, has earned a five-star rating from the Centers of Medicare/Medicaid, its highest rating for a healthcare facility.

United Northeast Financial Advisors, the financial advisory team for United Bank, with offices in Central Massachusetts, earned a top national ranking. The ranking appeared in a bank wealth management report by Bank Investment Consultant; it puts United at No. 3 on its list of the 10 highest-performing programs.

Milford Regional Medical Center was awarded 2014 Top Hospital by The Leapfrog Group, a national healthcare nonprofit. The recognition is a distinction awarded to hospitals for excellence in hospital safety and quality through the Leapfrog Hospital Survey. The award is given to less than seven percent of all eligible hospitals.

Beth Atkinson, of Townsend, won the Massachusetts Council of Human Service Providers' Ruth M. Batson Advocate of the Year Award. Atkinson is director of person-centered living at Seven Hills Pediatric Center in Groton, part of Seven Hills Foundation.

Maura Lyons of West Townsend, a teacher at Applewild School in Fitchburg, won the Nashua River Watershed Association Environmental Education Award. Her students have participated in the association's River Classroom program for many years.

Quinsigamond Community College was designated a Military Friendly School by Victory Media, a veteran services firm. The college's Office of Veteran Affairs offers assistance to students transitioning from military to college life, and supports them with volunteer activities.

Jennifer Valois, Country Bank and Nancy and Ray Fournier were honored by the Central Mass. South Chamber of Commerce at its annual awards. Valois, Chamber Volunteer of the Year, is marketing representative with the Center of Hope in Southbridge. Country Bank, based in Ware, was selected Business of the Year. The Fourniers were chosen Citizens of the Year.

GVNA HealthCare is marking its 30-year anniversary for its Gardner Adult Day Health Program and its hospice services. The center serves about 100 clients per year.

The Worcester office of Partridge Snow & Hahn was selected by U.S. News Media Group and Best Lawyers as having highest rankings in the nation and metropolitan area for trusts and estates law.
