April Durable Goods Orders Increase

New orders for manufactured durable goods increased by $3.0 billion or 1.9 percent in April to $161.5 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau reported.
The increase was the second in the last three months and followed a 2.1 percent March decrease.
Excluding transportation, new orders increased 0.8 percent. Excluding defense, new orders increased 1.0 percent.
