Award-Winning Restoration For Builders Systems Inc.

For restoration work recently completed on the historic Uxbridge Inn in Uxbridge, Auburn-based Builders Systems Inc. was recognized with a merit award in historical building renovation from the Associated Builders and Contractors at its 2007 Excellence in Construction Awards.
The $3.7 million dollar renovation project turned the former inn at 6 North Main St. into a branch of Southbridge-based Savers Bank.
Builders Systems gutted the entire 35,000-square foot building, which dates to 1880 and is on the Register of National Historic Sites. An entirely new steel superstructure was added to the building.
The company managed to salvage the original woodwork and doors in the two upper levels of the four-story building. The main floor was given entirely new cherry woodwork that matched the original work, and a new parking lot and road access were also added.
