Boston Scientific receives 2022 Catalyst Award

Marlborough medical device company Boston Scientific will receive a 2022 Catalyst Award for its diversity and inclusion efforts.
Catalyst is a diversity, equity, and inclusion-centered nonprofit based in New York. Its work primarily focuses on supporting women in the workplace.
Boston Scientific was specifically recognized for its Creating Equal Opportunities for Growth initiative, an internal program that aims to improve diversity awareness and inclusion competency across the company. It was designed to accelerate career advancement and reduce barriers identified after a 2017 employee survey.
In the time since that survey, the company reports women in executive leadership roles reporting directly to the CEO increased from 12.5% to 26.7%, with women at director and vice president levels increasing from 27.6% to 33.4%. Women of color in manager and supervisory roles increased from 7.5% to 9.3%.
The award will be formally presented at a March ceremony, according to Wednesday's announcement.
