Cingular, er… AT&T grows local retail presence

Meriden and Uncasville will be home to two new AT&T stores, as the company continues a transition away from the name Cingular after taking full control of the wireless outfit late last year in its merger with BellSouth. Cingular, which will be called AT&T Mobility, has 60 million subscribers and already has 24 locations in the state. The new Meriden shop will be at 496 South Broad St.
