Physicians looking to implement electronic health record systems will have an opportunity to hear from more than 50 vendors at an all-day conference Tuesday at the DCU Center in Worcester.
More than $40 billion has been made available in federal stimulus funds to encourage medical providers to adopt electronic health record systems.
As part of the effort to encourage medical technology adoption, the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative's Massachusetts e-Health Institute and the Massachusetts Health Data Consortium are sponsoring Tuesday's event. The HealthMart 10 Conference and Trade Show: How to Achieve Meaningful use will include 5 breakout sessions focusing on various aspects of implementing health technology systems.
The state has a goal of signing up 2,500 primary care physicians to use electronic health records by Jan. 31, 2011.
The conference is free for members of the Massachusetts Medical Society, the Massachusetts Hospital Association, the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers and members of the Regional Extension Center, which is run by the Massachusetts e-Health Institute. Registration is $175 for the general public. The conference begins at 8:30 a.m.
Local vendors presenting include Westborough's eClinicalWorks and The Ficus Consulting Group of Worcester, mZeal Communications of Fitchburg and Bitwork Inc. of Maynard.
