Edac posts record sales and profits
Farmington-based aerospace firm Edac Technologies reported a record quarterly profit of $781,000 on sales of $12.3 million, up from earnings of $293,000 on sales of $9.6 million in the year ago first quarter. Both the sales and profit margins were the highest the firm has ever recorded. At the same time last year, the company spent $226,000 to add 24,000 square feet of manufacturing space. The company said its backlog of manufacturing orders grew to $31.6 million, up from $28 million at the end of fiscal year 2006.
