EMC acquires Texas software co.

Hopkinton-based IT giant EMC Corp. said today that it acquired Voyence Inc., a network management and software company based in Texas.
The deal promises to upgrade EMC's IT management, network compliance and security capabilities, according to the company. Voyence said the deal brings the company the resources it needs to build its customer base and fully develop its technology.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to EMC, the announcement is not expected to have an impact on the company's revenues or earnings in 2007. Voyence will be fully integrated into EMC's resource management software business unit.
