EMC Publishes Sustainability Report
Data storage giant EMC Corp. has released its 2008 sustainability report, which highlights the company's efforts to protect the environment and operate more efficiently.
The report includes discussion of the company's environmental policies, employee programs, public policy and education efforts, corporate governance and supply chain concerns. The company in 2008 established an "office of corporate sustainability" to ensure that the company's environmental initiatives, from using environmentally sensitive materials in its products to meeting environmental regulations, is integrated with the company's business strategy and understood by employees.
In 2008, EMC brought in revenue of $14.9 billion and a profit of $1.4 billion. In the prior year, the company reported revenue of $13.2 billion and a profit of $1.7 billion. In the report, the company said it solidified its strategy and clarified its goals.
