Firm hiring gets litigious

According to a new Robert Half Legal survey, law firms and corporate legal departments plan on adding to their staffs in the coming year.

Forty-seven percent of attorneys polled by Robert Half said they plan to hire within the next 12 months. Only 2 percent said they anticipate staff reductions.

Litigation, corporate governance and intellectual property were identified  as the areas of law expected to experience the most growth, according to Robert Half.

Half's survey was conducted by an independent research firm, and included responses from 300 attorneys with the 1,000 largest law firms and corporations in the U.S. and Canada.
