First quarter GDP slowly grows

The country's economy, as measured by gross domestic product, grew at a slow annual rate of 0.7 percent during the first quarter, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce.
The increase is close to the 0.6 percent the department estimated in May, but far less than the 2.5 percent growth the economy showed in the fourth quarter of 2006.
