Former Microsoft Exec Has Head In The Clouds At EMC

EMC Corp. of Hopkinton has appointed Harel Kodesh as president of its cloud infrastructure business and CEO of the new EMC subsidiary, Decho.

Kodesh will lead the data-storage giant's cloud infrastructure business, which supports companies that use the Internet for data storage and use. As head of Decho, he will also lead efforts to help individuals manage their personal digital information.

Kodesh, 50, moves to EMC from a post as chief product officer at Amdocs Inc., which provides software and services to the communications industry.

Before that, he held several executive positions at Microsoft, including vice president of the information appliance division. He also served as president and CEO of Wingcast Inc., a telecommunications services company serving the automotive industry.

Kodesh received a bachelor's degree in computer engineering and a master's in electrical engineering from the Israel Institute of Technology.
