Globe Offers Digital Version

The Boston Globe has launched a digital version of the newspaper that can be downloaded to readers' computers for $4.98 per week.

The GlobeReader can be read online or offline and arrives in a format designed to resemble the look and feel of the print version of the paper, the Globe said. The paper offered a preview version of GlobeReader in the summer.

Subscription plans that include the GlobeReader are available.

The Globe is owned by the New York Times Co. A New York Times reader has been available for about a year. The company launched TimesReader 2.0 along with the GlobeReader today.
