Hanover Files For Better Benefits, Expands Agent Base

Worcester's Hanover Insurance Group will add more local independent insurance agents in the coming months to sell its Connections Auto product, which, if approved, could reduce insurance costs by as much as 30 percent for some customers, the company said.
Hanover has requested Division of Insurance approval for its newest product, which promises to cut rates by at least 20 percent for approximately 40,000 customers, or 25 percent of its customer base.
The company also filed to reduce the number of years a moving violation or at-fault accident causes penalties on a customer's insurance bill, from six years to three.
Should the company's product gain approval, it will be offered beginning April 1, 2008, the company said.
