Harding and Millbury Streets will be permanently reversed starting May 6

Photo | Grant Welker Worcester's Kelley Square is undergoing a major overhaul meant to make the notorious intersection safer.

Harding Street and Millbury streets in Worcester will be permanently reversed between Kelley Square and Arwick Avenue beginning Wednesday, May 6 at 5 a.m., according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

The reversals are part of the greater Kelley Square improvement project and is, among other things, intended to allow for the installation of a modified roundabout in the congested intersection, which is prone to accidents.

Harding and Millbury Streets will be detoured between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. on May 6, while the reversal is installed. Street parking on both streets will be suspended beginning at 7 p.m. the night prior, on Tuesday, May 5.
