Hologic Awarded $28M Military Supply Contract

The Marlborough operations of Bedford-based medical device maker Hologic Inc. has been awarded a $28 million contract to supply the military with medical supplies.

The contract calls for an indefinite quantity of supplies, but is set to pay a maximum of $28.2 million over as many as five years. Hologic was the only company to respond to the call for bids for the equipment.

The company specializes in technology used to diagnose cancer in women.

Hologic's equipment will be used by the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines, according to the contract, which was awarded by the Defense Supply Center in Philidelphia.
