JRC stock tumbling

The stock of the Journal Register Co., parent company of the New Haven Register and the New Britain Herald, has tumbled 25 percent in trading this week.

Beginning the week at $0.71, the stock closed Monday at $0.58 for an 18.3 percent drop. Today, the stock has fallen another 14 percent to $0.50 as of 11:15 a.m. JRC's stock had been barred from floor trading because it fell below $1.05 but can still be traded electronically. The company has reported significant losses in the past month but there have been no SEC filings or reports on JRC issued this week.
