Marlborough biosciences software firm raises $5M

Marlborough’s Scitara Co. announced today it has closed $5 million in a Series A round of funding.
The company, which provides cloud-based laboratory software for the biopharmaceutical and industrial markets, said in a release it will use the investment to build out its Digital Lab Exchange platform.
The investment was led by Northpond Ventures of Maryland, with participation from existing investor Flybridge Capital Partners of Boston. Andrea Jackson, director at Northpond Ventures, will join Scitara’s board of directors.
