Marlborough Company Gets Science Grant

Marlborough-based wireless and communications testing company octoScope Inc. announced it has been awarded $150,000 to develop testing and measurement standards for the next generation of wireless devices and systems.

octoScope will collaborate with researchers at the University of New Hampshire on the project, which aims to reduce the time and cost that such testing currently requires.

The researchers will experiment with the use of smaller anechoic chambers, which are commonly used to test wireless systems. Smaller chambers would cost less, and could ultimately help bring broadband Internet access to more rural areas, the company said.
