The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce has re-elected DEMITRIOS M. MOSCHOS, partner with the Worcester-based law firm of Mirick O’Connell, as chair of the chamber’s board of directors for 2011. Other re-elected officers: vice chair, DOUGLAS I. NIXON, vice president of Saint Gobain Abrasives; and clerk, ROBERT J. LEWIS, president of Bay State Savings Bank. New to the slate of officers is RICHARD P. BURKE, division president of senior care services at Fallon Community Health Plan, who was elected as the 2011 treasurer. The chamber also welcomed six new elected directors: ROBERT E. JOHNSON, president, Becker College; JOHN F. MERRILL, president, Fidelity Bank; MICHAEL A. MUDD, president, Worcester Sharks; ANDREW B. DAVIS, director, Worcester Regional Airport; JAMES J. DONOGHUE, owner, Tweed’s Pub Restaurant; and BENJAMIN G. DUSZLAK, vice president, Sovereign Bank.
JANE GRANT was named director of development and communications at the Shrewsbury-based Worcester County Food Bank. Previously, she was director of major gifts at the American Red Cross of Central Massachusetts. She is a resident of Worcester and has a bachelor’s degree from Clark University in Worcester.
The Leominster-based Trustees of Reservations has hired LISA CAISSIE as volunteer services manager. Caissie will oversee recruitment, engagement and management of the thousands of volunteers who help to care for 105 reservations each year. Prior to joining The Trustees, Caissie was manager of volunteer services at the Women’s Lunch Place in Boston. Before that she oversaw large volunteer programs for the Red Cross and the YWCA in Washington State.
The Doctor Franklin Perkins School in Lancaster recently hired KEVIN CARNEY to serve as director of education. Carney previously served as principal of Ashland Middle School in Ashland. Carney has a bachelor’s degree in social and rehabilitation services and a master’s in rehabilitation counseling, both from Assumption College in Worcester.
KATHLEEN POLANOWICZ, who previously served as district representative for Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Worcester), has been named district director, and SCOTT ZOBACK has been named the new district press secretary and new media director. Polanowicz will oversee all operations and staff in McGovern’s four district offices and continue to provide constituent services in municipal relations, federal grant support and select casework. Zoback previously served as director of new media for McGovern’s 2010 reelection campaign and as the communications director for State Sen. Harriette Chandler (D-Worcester).
Ashland-based Three-C Electrical Co. Inc. has hired DEBBY M. CARTNEY to lead a new compliance and regulatory services department. She brings more than 20 years of experience as a regulatory and compliance manager, most recently with Masspower in Western Massachusetts. Cartney began her career at Central Maine Power Co.
Pagio Inc., a Worcester-based publishing, design, event planning and web development company, promoted DAVID SIMONE to vice president of sales. Simone has been with Pagio for six years, as sales manager. Previously, he was sales manager for the special projects division of Worcester Publishing Ltd. for 15 years.
CHERYL ROBERTSON was named a financial consultant at Medway-based Charles River Bank. She will work out of the bank’s Mendon office. She is a partner with Commonwealth Financial Group, a general agency of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co., and is a lawyer licensed to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
SHAUN M. MARTIN, managing director of Huron Consulting Group in Boston, has been elected to the board of directors of Commerce Bank, as well as the boards of Commerce Bancshares and 1-800-East-West Mortgage Co. Since joining Huron Consulting Group in 2006, Martin has represented boards and management teams of companies in a wide range of industries, negotiating financing arrangements, divesting businesses and holding executive management roles.
Marlborough-based data protection platform firm Sepaton Inc. has hired GREG MANCUSI-UNGARO as vice president of marketing. Mancusi-Ungaro will lead Sepaton’s global marketing, including strategy development, messaging and positioning, lead generation, public relations, partner programs and product marketing. He will report to Mike Thompson, executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing.
LINDA M. MIDURA has been hired as the new vice president of human resources at Clinton-based Clinton Savings Bank. Midura’s responsibilities include recruiting and staffing, employee relations, compensation and benefit administration, training and development. In her new role, she will also be part of the bank’s senior management team. Prior to joining Clinton Savings Bank, Midura was the vice president of human resources at Flagship Bank & Trust in Worcester, where she worked since 1993.
WILLIAM E. PHILBRICK, senior vice president at Worcester-based accounting firm Greenberg, Rosenblatt, Kull & Bitsoli, has been appointed to the IRS Advisory Council for a three-year term. The council provides a public forum for IRS officials and the public to discuss tax administration issues.
WILLIS CHANDLER, senior vice president of business development for UMass Memorial Health Care, was recently appointed to the Clinton Hospital Board of Trustees. During his seven years with UMass Memorial, Chandler’s responsibilities have ranged from overseeing adult critical care services to capital planning for UMass Memorial Medical Center. In his current role, which he has held for the past three years, he works with executives of all member hospitals on issues of integration.
JAMES F. CRONIN has been named branch manager at Marlborough Savings Bank in Marlborough. He is responsible for the sales, service and operations functions of the main office and has more than 18 years of management, training and employee coaching experience. A graduate of Merrimack College in North Andover with a degree in economics, Cronin is involved in several chambers of commerce and active in Marlborough Youth Sports. He is a native of Lynn and resides in Marlborough.
