James Ernstmeyer has been named vice president of engineering at Rypos Inc. in Holliston. He previously was a summer associate at Fish & Richardson PC in Boston. He has a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a law degree from Boston University.
SimplexGrinnell, the Westminster-based fire and life-safety company, has named long-time employee Robert F. (Bob) Chauvin president. Chauvin took the reins of the company, which is part of Tyco International, on Oct. 1, succeeding Jim Spicer, who is retiring. Chauvin has worked for SimplexGrinnell, and previously for Simplex, for 30 years. Since 2004, he has been vice president of northern operations, and he has also served as CFO and held business planning and marketing management positions. Chauvin is vice chairman of the United Way of North Central Massachusetts Board of Directors. He lives in Westminster.
Conservations Services Group, the Westborough-based energy consulting company, has hired Terry M. Miller as program director. Miller’s new responsibilities will include overseeing local residential energy efficiency programs. He will be based at the company’s Portland, Ore., office. Miller previously worked for Green Building Services Inc., a private consulting firm based in Portland. Before that, he was the green building program coordinator for the city of Portland’s Office of Sustainable Development. Miller has a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from the University of Oregon and a master’s degree in environmental management from Yale University.
Worcester Internet light bulb retailer Bulbs.com has named Russ Lamacchia as sales manager. Lamacchia has worked for the company since September 2001. In his new role he will oversee the company’s commercial sales activity across the country. He will also head up customer service operations. Lamacchia has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Worcester State College.
New England Coaching of Marlborough has hired Lisa Vaillette as director of sales and marketing. Vaillette joins the company after a stint as a recruiting manager with staffing firm Robert Half International. In addition, over the past 10 years, she has worked in business management, property management, banking and sales. New England Coaching offers corporate programs for executives, HR personnel and other employees.
Real estate agent Trish O’Neil has joined MetroWest Commercial Real Estate LLC in Framingham. O’Neil previously worked for another Framingham commercial real estate firm, IPS Inc. She has handled retail and commercial leasing and sales throughout the MetroWest area, mainly for local and regional companies.
Davis W. Baird has been named provost and vice president for academic affairs at Clark University in Worcester. He previously served as the dean of the South Carolina Honors College at the University of South Carolina.
Deborah Penta, CEO of Penta Communications Inc. in Westborough has been appointed to the Westborough Economic Development Committee. The committee’s purpose is promoting business development in town, advising the Board of Selectmen on economic development policy and working with current and prospective businesses and elected leaders.
Hyde Tools Inc. of Southbridge has moved Corey Talbot to a new position as vice president of marketing. Talbot has been with the company since 2007, most recently as director of new product development. He has worked in hard goods for 15 years, spending time at Stanley Tools, Danaher Craftsman Tools Division and Newell Rubbermaid. He has also worked as a consultant, advising businesses on new product development processes, sales and marketing.
The Massachusetts Bar Association has named Central Massachusetts lawyers Michael R. Christy, Charles E. Vander Linden, Brian E. Glennon II, Michael L. Fabbri, Elizabeth J. Barton, Barbara J. Saint André, Kevin G. Diamond, Margaret J. Hurley and James Gavin Reardon Jr. to leadership positions for 2010-2011. Vander Linden, of Starr & Vander Linden LLP in Fitchburg, was named vice chair of the MBA’s Access to Justice Section. Glennon, of Cumberland Gulf Group in Framingham, is vice chair of Business Law. Fabbri, of the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office in Framingham, is chair of Criminal Justice. Christy, of Mirick O’Connell DeMallie and Lougee LLP in Worcester, is the new vice chair of the Probate Law Section. Barton, of CATIC in Natick, is vice chair of Property Law. Barbara J. Saint André, of Petrini & Associates PC in Framingham, was named chair of Public Law. Diamond, of Shea & Diamond LLP in Holliston, was named a delegate to the MBA for Middlesex County. For Worcester County, the two delegates are Hurley, of the Office of the Attorney General in Worcester, and James Gavin Reardon Jr. of Reardon & Reardon.
