New Small Biz Group For Leominster
Leominster Mayor Dean Mazzarella and other city officials joined with small business owners from the city this morning to start a new business organization.
About 30 people, mostly small business owners, attended a meeting at the Leominster Public Library to kick off the new group.
Mazzarella said the organization's functions could include joint marketing efforts, information sharing, expert presentations and support for existing city events like winter and summer downtown strolls, which showcase local businesses. The first task for the group will be to create a web site to promote member businesses, he said.
Mazzarella said the group, which has not named itself yet, will not compete with the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce or its affiliated small business group, SB2.
