Marlborough medical device manufacturer ReWalk Robotics has entered into two agreements to distribute product lines to the U.S. market from two companies in Florida and Israel.

The company is known for its wearable exoskeleton medical devices, intended for people with mobility issues. The two products it will be distributing will make use of its pre-existing relationships and sales network, according to a release from the company.

ReWalk will be the exclusive distributor of the MediTouch Tutor movement biofeedback systems used by physical and occupational therapists to evaluate functional tasks during rehabilitation of neurologic disorders. The system made by the Isreali company MediTouch consists of sensors attached to textiles worn on the patient’s hand, arm or leg to detect motion and a web-based program which uses game play to provide instruction and motivation to the patient user.

The other product is Myolyn MyoCycle Functional Electrical Stimulation products facilitating therapeutic exercise for persons with muscle weakness or paralysis caused by disorders like spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, and stroke, according to the ReWalk release. Myolyn is a medical device manufacturer based in Florida.

“These impressive technologies serve similar clinician and patient profiles as our current products which presents an opportunity to increase same-site sales, and offering a broader portfolio of solutions also potentially expands our access to new customers,” said Andy Dolan, vice president of marketing at ReWalk, in the release.

The partnership comes after ReWalk reported 50% less revenue in the first quarter, compared to the same time period in 2019. The company attributed the revenue decrease to the COVID-19 pandemic, which it said affected its ability to meet, train and deliver products to customers.

Company officials said they had adjusted the company’s spending and cash usage in response to the downturn.
