ReWalk Robotics increases telehealth research

ReWalk Robotics, the Marlborough medical device manufacturer, has revised its sponsored research agreement with Harvard University to focus increasingly now researching how the company’s wearable exosuits are comparable with telehealth services, the company announced on Tuesday.
The sponsored project with the Harvard Biodesign Lab is scheduled to extend to March 2023.
"We have seen that the U.S. healthcare system is quickly evolving to utilize telehealth capabilities to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said CEO Larry Jasinski in a statement. “With our collaborators, we are eager to see how telehealth technology may be incorporated into next-generation exosuits.”
ReWalk’s wearable exosuits are designed for patients with limited mobility. In turn, the Harvard Biodesign Lab unites researches from engineering, industrial design, apparel biomechanics, physical therapy and business communities to work on wearable robotic technologies.
Telehealth services have become high priority since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, and healthcare providers have worked to expand the types of medical services that can be offered remotely.
